Math: Students will have a quiz on Monday over money and ordering numbers. They will then begin to complete the chapter practice and review sheets to prepare for the mid-chapter assessment.

Science: This week, students were delighted to discover how and why insects are able to smell, taste, and feel things. Next week, students will learn important anatomy of insects and will have an exciting opportunity to observe unique species of insects up close!

Grammar: Students have been introduced to using a comma in a series. We will continue to practice using the comma when writing out a list in a sentence and reviewing verbs. Scholars will write a summary from Science using commas in a sentence.

History: Students have loved learning about ancient China! We discovered the two main reasons behind why the Great Wall of China was built and learned a lot about virtue from the great historic thinker, Confucius. Next week, scholars will review the content that we have studied before taking a quiz over the unit on Monday, October 28. We will finalize our study of Asia on Friday, November 1 during our China celebration.

Literature: We will begin reading The Cricket in Times Square, please ensure your child has a copy on Monday, October 21.
